As South Africa prepares to celebrate twenty years of freedom and democracy, the country is less concerned with the past than with planning its future. Regionally, South Africa acts as an economic powerhouse for Africa, while internationally, it is becoming increasingly influential, forging ties with major economies in the global north and south.
